Job summary

Animal Referral Hospital is seeking a dedicated veterinary nurse to advance in Emergency and Critical Care. This role offers exposure to DKA, MODS, GDV and nursing of patients with central lines, high-flow oxygen, ventilators and feeding tubes, all supported by digital systems and Smartflow.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent.
• Applicants currently studying Certificate IV will be considered.
• Proficiency in IV catheter placement, blood sampling and anaesthesia monitoring advantageous.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as part of a rotating roster.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency and critical care nursing.
• Support patients with IV lines, oxygen support, and monitoring.
• Assist and mentor junior staff and students.
