Job summary

Nepean Hospital is seeking an Emergency Medicine Stage 1 Trainee to gain broad experience in Emergency Medicine and Critical Care, with rotations across Paediatrics, Intensive Care, and Anaesthetics.

The position is a temporary full-time role, rotating 24/7, with accreditation through ACEM and opportunities for training, education and research. Applicants must hold MBBS and be registered or eligible to register.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent and registered or eligible for registration in Australia.
• Evidence of English language skills if not registered in Australia.
• Australian Emergency Department experience within the last 2 years.
• Sufficient clinical experience to meet role responsibilities.
• Selected into Fellowship training or applied for Fellowship with ACEM.
• Supervision level must be supportable by the health agency.

Responsibilities

• Assess, investigate and initially manage ED patients under supervision.
• Active role in resuscitation and learning procedural skills.
• Communicate findings and management plans to patients and families.
• Participate in education and quality assurance activities within the department.
• Contribute to a 24-7 rotating roster including days, evenings, nights and weekends.
