Job summary

Costa, Australia’s leading grower, packer and marketer of fresh fruit and vegetables, is expanding its Mechanical Workshop in Emerald, QLD. We’re seeking an experienced Farm Mechanic to maintain and repair a diverse fleet of agricultural machinery and vehicles, performing preventive maintenance and diagnostics to keep operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Automotive Mechanical Technology (Light/Heavy Vehicle) or equivalent.
• Experience servicing agricultural machinery, plant, light vehicles, heavy vehicles, or mobile equipment.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience using workshop diagnostic equipment and maintenance systems.
• Sound understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on farm machinery and vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults across a range of equipment.
• Respond to breakdowns promptly to minimise operational downtime.
• Complete maintenance records, job cards, and service documentation accurately.
• Record labour, parts, and consumables used during maintenance activities.
• Monitor and report parts and inventory requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment.
• Adhere to all workplace health and safety procedures and safe work practices.
• Build positive working relationships with farm operators, managers, and fellow team members.
