Job summary

Luke Johnson - Embedded Software, Firmware, Electronics is seeking a Software Engineer - Embedded Systems in Perth, WA. You will contribute to engine control and power system software across the full lifecycle, working close to hardware in a multidisciplinary team.

The role emphasizes C/C++ development, embedded MCU expertise, and robust verification, including HIL/testing, DFMEA, and ongoing improvement of control strategies in an aerospace/defence context.

Qualifications

• Degree in Software, Mechatronics, Control Systems, Electrical/Electronics or related field.
• 3+ years of relevant industry experience in embedded software.
• Strong C/C++ programming and embedded MCU experience.
• Experience with CAN Bus, Serial, I2C, SPI.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test and release embedded and PC-based software using modern tools and languages.
• Develop software for engine control, power systems and other embedded subsystems.
• Translate requirements into software specifications, interfaces and acceptance criteria.
• Produce clear technical documentation and software design inputs.
• Implement robust software verification and validation processes.
• Develop and maintain unit, regression and HIL testing processes.
• Participate in design reviews, risk management and DFMEA.
