Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC seeks a Device Software Development Engineer to design and develop embedded software for satellite gateway systems across San Diego and Redmond. You will work on fault-tolerant, real-time platforms and collaborate with hardware, software, and product teams to deliver secure, high-performance solutions.

The role requires extensive experience in C/C++, Python, Linux, and Yocto/OpenEmbedded, plus kernel drivers and device-tree work.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• 3+ years of embedded firmware development experience
• 2+ years of experience with Yocto/OpenEmbedded or a comparable embedded Linux build system

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded software in C, C++, and Python, and Linux kernel drivers.
• Write device drivers and system applications for the various satellite systems.
• Develop and maintain Linux kernel drivers and device-tree overlays for SPI, I3C, I2C, CAN, GPIO, DMA and UIO interfaces.
• Debug and resolve complex hardware-software integration issues using tools like logic analyzers and oscilloscopes.
• Build and maintain the Yocto/OpenEmbedded distribution: BitBake recipes and layers, A/B partition boot, secure boot, eMMC and NOR storage, and SWUpdate image generation.
