Job summary

Resmed in Sydney is seeking a Software Engineer II to design, develop, and maintain embedded software for medical devices used in diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment.

In an Agile environment you will collaborate with software, hardware, systems, quality, product and clinical teams to deliver reliable software within project timelines and contribute to software architecture, design reviews, and test outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer engineering, computer science or related discipline.
• Commercial software application development background.
• Proficiency in C++ and/or Python for application and test software development.
• Knowledge of Agile development environments.
• Understanding of software design, code reviews, debugging, and testing.
• Familiarity with GitHub, Bitbucket, Jira, or Confluence.
• Understanding of CI/CD principles and automated build environments.
• Ability to translate customer and product requirements into technical solutions.
• Clear written and verbal communication.

What You Bring

• A bachelor’s degree in software engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, a related discipline, or equivalent practical knowledge
• Commercial software application development background
• Proficiency in C++ and/or Python for application and test software development
• Knowledge of Agile development environments
• Understanding of software design, code reviews, debugging, and testing
• Familiarity with GitHub, Bitbucket, Jira, or Confluence
• Understanding of CI/CD principles and automated build environments

Nice to Have

• 3+ years developing embedded C/C++ software using object-oriented programming
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitHub workflow actions
• Experience developing and integrating cellular modules, including modem communication, network registration, and connectivity troubleshooting
• Exposure to medical devices, healthcare, or another regulated industry
• Experience with Test-Driven Development and automated testing methodologies
