Job summary

ResMed Inc. is seeking an Engineering Manager in Sydney, Australia to lead a hands-on engineering team and deliver complex healthcare informatics solutions. You will coach engineers, learn system architectures, and ensure timely delivery while promoting best practices.

The role combines leadership with periods of coding, working across architectures, product managers, and cross-functional teams to build scalable, cloud-native health tech. On-call rotation may occur.

• Assist with project estimation, planning and progress.
• Communicate clearly and promptly when work hits roadblocks or risks arise that must be managed.
• May be part of an on-call support rotation.

Qualification and Experience:

• Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
• Experienced People Manager, you take ownership of issues, work to find solutions, and collaborate well with team members and cross-functional groups
• Experience leading a software development team through multiple product/platform releases
• Experience making significant individual contributions as a Senior Engineer to real-world software development
• Interface with other project stakeholders to ensure the system objectives are balanced with overall project objectives
• Provide product design leadership for the project team, including ongoing design and implementation review
• Experience with NoSQL databases
• Experience development and delivery at a large scale
• Experience building scalable, available, and low-latency cloud-native systems
• Experience in using AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot
• Experience using AI to solve operational and business problems
• Experience with messaging systems (pub/sub-queues, request/response) and data streaming
