Queensland Academy of Sport is seeking a Sports Scientist (Para Sport) to provide expert Physiology and Movement Science support to categorised para athletes and coaches across QAS programs, including Swimming. You will contribute to athlete development and performance through evidence‑based testing, monitoring and integrated planning.

The role sits in a multidisciplinary, high‑performance environment and supports Brisbane 2032 and beyond, with opportunities to collaborate across laboratories,

Qualifikationen

• Degree in sport and exercise science (minimum).
• Postgraduate qualification in the relevant field would be highly desirable.
• ESSA Accredited Sport Scientist – Level 1 (ASpS L1) or ability to attain accreditation.

Aufgaben

• Provide world‑leading, evidence‑based Physiology and Movement Science support to QAS coaches and categorised para sport athletes, aligned with Athlete Plans and WITTW framework.
• Partner with coaches to develop, implement and review Athlete Plans to optimise development and performance, coordinating input from Performance Support team members.
• Collaborate with other Sports Scientists to provide access to specialised testing through the QAS Laboratory, QAS Swimming Hubs and KPASS system at the QAS Recovery Centre.
• Deliver performance testing, tracking and monitoring for athletes, interpret findings, and provide timely feedback to coaches and athletes to inform training decisions.
• Contribute to a high‑performing, collaborative team environment by maintaining partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver integrated performance outcomes.
