Job summary

RØDE is seeking a full-time Electronics Operator to join our SMT team in Australia. The role focuses on operating SMT production equipment, soldering, and PCB assembly to IPC standards.

You will handle through-hole soldering, AOI equipment, and microscope-based inspection, ensuring high quality and efficiency. The position emphasizes accuracy, safety, and teamwork in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with electronic components and assembly processes.
• Background in electronics manufacturing is highly regarded.
• High manual dexterity and careful handling of small parts.
• Good mechanical aptitude and confidence using tools and fixtures.
• Strong attention to detail with focus on quality and accuracy.
• Able to work independently and manage output.
• Experience assembling or inspecting products under a microscope (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Operate SMT production equipment safely and efficiently.
• Perform through-hole soldering to IPC standards.
• Operate selective soldering and AOI equipment.
• Carry out PCBA assembly, inspection and rework to a high standard.
• Self-check work to minimise errors and ensure accuracy.
• Replenish components and complete job changeovers smoothly.
• Record task times against Production Orders accurately.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work area.
• Support minor maintenance activities as required.
• Assist with other tasks as directed by team leads, supervisors and managers.

We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Electronics Operator to join our Surface Mount Technology (SMT) team.

• Employment Type: Full-Time
• Shift Time: 6am - 2:06pm

What you'll do

• Operate SMT production equipment safely and efficiently
• Perform through-hole soldering to IPC standards
• Operate selective soldering and AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) equipment
• Carry out PCBA assembly, inspection and rework to a high standard
• Ensure accuracy by self-checking work and minimising errors
• Replenish components and materials, and complete job changeovers smoothly
• Accurately record task times against Production Orders
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work area
• Support minor maintenance activities as required
• Assist with other tasks as directed by team leaders, supervisors and managers

Qualifications

• Experience or knowledge of electronic components and assembly processes
• Background in electronics manufacturing (highly regarded)
• Strong manual dexterity, with the ability to handle small, delicate components
• Good mechanical aptitude and confidence using tools and fixtures
