Job description

Beaver Engineering Pty Ltd – Girraween NSW

This role suits someone who enjoys working across both hardware and software, from designing circuits and programming microcontrollers to soldering components, testing prototypes and getting equipment operating reliably.

You will help turn ideas into working products, with a focus on compact control systems, DC motors, encoder feedback and wireless operation.

What you’ll do

Design and develop electronic circuits, schematics and printed circuit boards.

Write, test and troubleshoot firmware for microcontrollers and embedded devices.

Develop motor-control systems, including 24V DC applications, directional control and position feedback.

Integrate remote controls, sensors, encoders, switches and other electronic components.

Assemble, solder, modify and repair prototype circuit boards.

Select suitable components, power supplies and motor drivers.

Diagnose hardware and software faults using appropriate test equipment.

Test prototypes for functionality, reliability and safe operation.

Prepare clear technical documentation, including wiring diagrams, component lists and test records.

Work with the wider team to integrate electronics into mechanical equipment and refine designs for manufacture.

What you’ll bring

Qualifications in electronics engineering, mechatronics or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Experience programming microcontrollers, preferably using C/C++.

Confidence reading schematics, working with PCBs and soldering electronic components.

An understanding of low-voltage DC systems, motor control and electronic troubleshooting.

A methodical approach to testing and solving problems.

The ability to work independently, communicate clearly and take ownership of development tasks.

Experience with platforms such as Arduino, STM32 or ESP32, PCB design software, wireless communications and encoder based motion control would be highly regarded.

We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate practical projects they have designed, built or programmed, whether through previous employment, study or personal development.
