Job summary

Boeing Defence Australia seeks an Electromagnetic Effects Systems Test Engineer to conduct EMI/EMC testing at the Boeing Test Facility in Wacol, Brisbane. The role requires a tertiary engineering degree and 2+ years applying relevant standards, including MIL-STD-461/464.

Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet Defence Security Requirements. You will develop procedures, reports and provide EMI/EMC mitigation guidance across defence and commercial projects.

Qualifications

• Tertiary degree in engineering or related technical discipline.
• 2+ years applying relevant engineering practices, standards and regulations.
• Desirable MIL-STD-461/464 experience.
• Previous EMI/EMC test experience in a lab environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct EMI/EMC testing to meet customer requirements across defence and commercial programs.
• Develop Test Procedures and Test Reports.
• Advise customers on EMI/EMC analysis and mitigation to ensure compatibility and safety.
• Perform EMI/EMC testing of hardware and software in lab and field to verify MIL-STD compliance.
• Perform HIRF/Lightning, RF COSITE, Antenna Coupling & RADHAZ analysis and testing.
• Contribute to an open, inclusive team culture.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an Electromagnetic Effects Systems Test Engineer to conduct electromagnetic effects testing at the Boeing Test Facility in Wacol. This is an exciting opportunity where someone with knowledge of product life cycle, test and verification would excel. The team of engineers and technicians that work within the Boeing Test Facility are key to the successful delivery of BDA's internal test programs so a consistent focus on our people is critical. If you enjoy working with people, hold knowledge of military test standards and are interested in contributing to the successful delivery of a broad cross-section of BDA projects.

Responsibilities

• Conduct of test, and verification of EMI/EMC customer requirements across multiple defence programs and commercial customers
• Develop Test Procedures and Test Reports
• Advise customers on EMI/EMC analysis and mitigation mechanisms to assure compatibility and safety of new and existing systems and interfaces
• Conduct EMI/EMC testing of hardware and software systems in both lab and in field environments to verify adherence to MIL-STD-461/464
• Perform HIRF/Lightning, RF COSITE, Antenna Coupling & RADHAZ analysis and test
• Contribute to the open, inclusive and innovative team culture
