Job summary

BALLINA SHIRE COUNCIL is seeking a trade qualified electrician to join its Facilities Management team. The role involves electrical installation and maintenance across domestic, commercial and industrial settings, with opportunities to supervise apprentices and contractors.

A strong focus on safety, teamwork and service delivery is essential. Applicants should hold a Class C licence, White Card, and be willing to work outside standard hours.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified electrician with domestic, commercial and industrial wiring experience.
• Experience reading electrical schematic drawings.
• Experience supervising apprentices and contractors.
• Class C driver licence with manual transmission.
• White Card (Work Safely in the Construction Industry Induction).
• Willingness to work in confined spaces and at heights.
• Immunisation against Hepatitis A and B or willing to participate.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call roster/outside hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide high level support and expertise in Council’s electrical installation and maintenance functions.
• Work with the team to support efficient service delivery and achievement of goals.
• Direct and supervise apprentices and contractors.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Maintain safety and compliance across electrical projects.
