Job summary

InfraBuild is recruiting for an Electrical Maintenance role at the Newcastle Wire Mill in Mayfield. You will deliver high-quality electrical maintenance across site operations, ensuring equipment reliability and supporting continuous improvement in a heavy industrial setting.

You will perform preventative and breakdown maintenance, troubleshoot Siemens PLCs, ABB drives and motor systems, and maintain safety and documentation. Competitive hourly pay and shift loading apply.

Qualifications

• Electrical Supervision Licence – essential for safe oversight of site-based electrical work
• Cert III in Electrotechnology as a foundation for hands-on electrical maintenance
• Proven experience with Siemens PLCs, ABB drives and AC/DC motor systems
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills across industrial electrical and control systems
• Exposure to instrumentation, automation, or control systems (Cert IV highly regarded)
• Experience in heavy industry or combustion equipment, with SAP knowledge advantageous

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor and based at our Newcastle Wire Millin Mayfield, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality electrical maintenance services across site operations, ensuring equipment reliability, minimising downtime and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.

What you will be doing:

• Execute preventative and breakdown maintenance to maximise equipment uptime and reliability.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, instrumentation and control faults efficiently.
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to optimise fixed plant performance.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and root cause analysis initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, procedures, and site requirements.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.

Hours are Monday-Friday, 6.00am-3.00pm with a 9-day fortnight. Candidates must be willing and able to work shifts if required, including a 12-hour roster.

Earn $47-49 per hour (depending on experience) plus allowances and shift loading (if applicable).
