Job summary

Sanctuary Cove Community Services in Sanctuary Cove QLD is seeking an experienced Electrician to join our Facilities Services team on a full-time site-based basis.

You will install, inspect, operate, maintain and repair electrical assets across the Sanctuary Cove estate, with a 7:00 am–3:00 pm schedule, some after-hours callouts, and opportunities to lead maintenance tasks and coordinate with external contractors.

Qualifications

• Hold a current Queensland Electrical Mechanic Licence.
• Have a minimum of five years’ post-trade electrical experience.
• Hold CPR and low-voltage rescue qualifications.
• Hold a current Queensland driver licence.
• Demonstrate testing, fault-finding and rectification experience.
• Able to interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Understand electrical legislation, Australian Standards and safe practices.
• Eligible for QTP endorsement or able to complete competencies.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, inspect, maintain and repair electrical systems and infrastructure across the estate.
• Undertake preventive maintenance, testing, fault-finding and rectification.
• Diagnose faults using schematics and wiring diagrams; including pump-station systems.
• Respond to reactive maintenance requests and urgent faults.
• Complete testing and tagging per AS/NZS 3760.
• Maintain records of jobs, assets and stock; coordinate with contractors.
• Provide electrical advice and professional service to stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, standards and SCCSL policies.

Sanctuary Cove is Australia’s first fully integrated residential resort, set within a prestigious waterfront community on the northern Gold Coast, where the quality and reliability of our infrastructure directly contribute to the experience of residents, businesses and visitors every day.

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and highly motivated Electrician to join our Facilities Services team. This permanent, site-based position offers the stability of working at one location, without the regular travel between job sites commonly associated with trade roles.

It is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys varied technical work, solving complex problems and taking ownership of the electrical infrastructure they maintain.

About the role

Reporting to the Facilities Services Manager, you will be responsible for the installation, inspection, operation, maintenance and repair of electrical assets and infrastructure across the Sanctuary Cove resort.

No two days will be the same. The role offers a varied mix of hands-on electrical work, fault diagnosis, preventative maintenance, infrastructure improvement and coordination with specialist contractors—all within one established site.

This is a full-time position, with ordinary hours generally worked from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday to Friday. The role will also involve participating in the after-hours callout roster and responding to urgent faults when required.

The successful applicant will be self-motivated, proactive and capable of working autonomously. They will be expected to identify emerging maintenance requirements, take ownership of tasks, manage competing priorities and follow work through to completion.

Key responsibilities

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Install, commission, inspect, maintain and repair electrical systems and infrastructure across the estate;
• Undertake preventative maintenance, testing, fault-finding and rectification;
• Diagnose electrical faults using schematics and wiring diagrams, including within pump-station systems;
• Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests and urgent electrical faults;
• Complete electrical testing and tagging in accordance with AS/NZS 3760;
• Identify and prioritise maintenance requirements and recommend practical solutions;
• Maintain accurate job, asset, stock and maintenance records;
• Prepare scopes of work, obtain quotations and coordinate external contractors;
• Provide practical electrical advice and professional service to stakeholders; and
• Ensure all work complies with relevant legislation, Australian Standards, safe working practices and SCCSL policies and procedures.

Applicants must:

• Hold a current Queensland Electrical Mechanic Licence;
• Have a minimum of five years’ post-trade electrical experience;
• Hold current CPR and low-voltage rescue qualifications;
• Hold a current Queensland driver licence;
• Have demonstrated commercial electrical maintenance experience, including testing, fault-finding and rectification;
• Be able to interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams;
• Have a sound understanding of relevant electrical legislation, Australian Standards and safe working practices;
• Be eligible for endorsement as a Qualified Technical Person (QTP) on a Queensland electrical contractor licence, or be able to complete the required competencies and endorsement process within an agreed timeframe;
• Have a basic personal electrician’s tool kit; and
• Demonstrate strong communication, customer service and professionalism.

Highly regarded

The following experience or qualifications would be advantageous:

• Current endorsement as a QTP on a Queensland electrical contractor licence;
• Working at heights qualification, or willingness to obtain;
• Experience maintaining electrical assets across a large-scale facility, infrastructure network, resort or multi-site environment;
• Experience with automated gates, access-control systems, CCTV, intercoms and other infrastructure supporting security operations;
• Experience working alongside trade assistants and other maintenance personnel;
• Experience coordinating contractors, preventative and corrective maintenance activities, and minor electrical projects; and
• Familiarity with asset and maintenance-management systems.
