Job summary

Huon Aquaculture in Port Huon is seeking a skilled Electrician to support our underwater lighting program across our marine operations. This hands-on, on-water role offers variety, autonomy, and the chance to work with specialised equipment that supports fish health and performance.

Working a 7 days on, 7 days off roster, you’ll maintain and repair underwater lighting systems and electrical infrastructure across our sites, with safety at the forefront.

Qualifications

• Australian A-Grade Electrical Licence and experience with Australian Standards.
• Ability to work on water and in challenging weather.
• Strong safety mindset and proactive approach.
• Strong decision-making and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot underwater lighting systems, generators, and sub-boards.
• Complete scheduled preventative maintenance and manage the Lighting MEX Asset Registry.
• Test, diagnose, and repair electrical faults.
• Ensure work meets specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Identify hazards and contribute to a strong safety culture.

About the role

Working a 7 days on, 7 days off roster, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing underwater lighting systems and associated electrical infrastructure across our marine sites.

Key responsibilities include:

• Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting lighting systems, generators, and sub‑boards
• Completing scheduled preventative maintenance and managing the Lighting MEX Asset Registry
• Testing, diagnosing, and repairing electrical faults
• Ensuring all work meets specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements

About you

You’re a qualified electrician who enjoys practical work, problem‑solving, and being out on the water. You bring a strong safety mindset and a proactive approach.

You’ll also bring:
