Job summary

Maxwell Recruitment and Training has an opportunity for an experienced Trade Assistant to join a busy electrical workshop in Cardiff. This hands-on role supports qualified tradespeople and assists with movement, preparation, repair and overhaul of electrical equipment and components.

You will operate a forklift, use hand and power tools, and maintain a clean, safe workshop. Drug and alcohol testing may be required prior to commencement.

Qualifications

• Candidate has forklift licence (essential).
• Previous trade assistant/workshop/manufacturing experience preferred.
• MR or HR truck licence highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Assist qualified electrical tradespeople with workshop activities.
• Disassemble/reassemble electrical equipment and components.
• Operate a forklift to load, unload and move equipment.
• Clean and prepare components for repair/overhaul/testing.
• Use a range of hand and power tools.
• Assist with loading/unloading trucks.
• Complete manual handling and general labouring duties.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organised workshop.
• Follow site safety procedures and supervisor instructions.
