Job summary

RES Group in regional New South Wales is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to join the operations and maintenance team at the Wyalong Solar Farm. The role focuses on maintaining, inspecting and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems to ensure safe, reliable solar power generation.

You will perform routine and advanced maintenance, diagnose faults, support SOP development, and keep accurate maintenance records.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in electrical maintenance, repair and installation.
• Experience on industrial, utility-scale solar, renewable energy or similar infrastructure projects.
• Strong fault finding and troubleshooting capability.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a site-based team.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and advanced maintenance, inspections and troubleshooting on electrical and mechanical systems.
• Diagnose faults and resolve complex technical issues, including repairing or replacing faulty components.
• Support the development and implementation of maintenance SOPs and procedures.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with site safety standards and operational requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs and inspections.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to junior technicians where required.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient site operations.
• Assist with the installation and commissioning of new systems and equipment.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests when required.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrician or renewable energy technician to join the operations and maintenance team supporting the ongoing performance of a large-scale solar asset.

As an Electrical Technician, you will support the safe and efficient operation of the solar farm through maintenance, inspections and technical troubleshooting.

Responsibilities include:

Required Qualifications

• Valid QLD Electrical Supervisors or Contractor’s Licence
• Valid Driver’s Licence
• Current LVR/CPR certificate
• Current First Aid certificate
