Job summary

Airservices Australia is seeking a motivated, qualified electrician to maintain and support critical aviation systems at Cairns Airport. The role involves some travel Australia-wide and offers competitive salary and benefits.

Based at the Cairns Airport site, you will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, support safety, and contribute to continuous service improvements while upholding a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Maintenance, fault-finding and installation on electrical systems and infrastructure.
• Interest in learning to maintain UPS, generators, air conditioning and DC power systems.
• Ability to plan, prioritise and perform with limited guidance.
• Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, standards and legislation.
• Strong commitment to safety, teamwork and customer service excellence.
• Relevant trade qualification and industry licences.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical infrastructure.
• Understand the impact of work on Airservices systems.
• Support safety and integrity of critical aviation systems.
• Maintain effective working relationships for coordinated service delivery.
• Ensure timely data entry into maintenance management systems.
• Contribute to coaching and development within the team.
• Participate in governance including safety, risks and compliance.
• Promote workplace safety and a safe working environment.
• Identify opportunities for continuous service improvements.
