Job summary

Summary

We are seeking a motivated, qualified and experienced to join our team and help maintain and support critical Air Traffic Control and Aviation Rescue Fire Fighting systems. Based at Cairns Airport, this role will involve some travel throughout Australia and offers an attractive salary, flexibility and excellent employee benefits.

The Role & The Team

In this role you will be part of a high-performing team responsible for carrying out maintenance and support activities on critical aviation infrastructure, ensuring the operational safety and integrity of Australia's national airways system.

As a member of this team you would be responsible for:

  • Undertaking preventive and corrective maintenance activities in accordance with prescribed processes, procedures and standards
  • Maintaining an awareness and understanding of the impact that work undertaken can have on Airservices systems
  • Supporting the operational safety and integrity of critical aviation systems and associated infrastructure
  • Maintaining effective working relationships with Airservices staff to ensure coordinated service delivery outcomes
  • Providing timely and accurate data entry into maintenance management systems
  • Supporting the coaching and development of team members within the workgroup
  • Participating in enterprise governance activities including safety, environmental, work health and safety, risk and compliance requirements
  • Promoting workplace safety and contributing to a safe working environment at all times
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in service delivery and work practices

  • Demonstrated experience undertaking maintenance, fault finding and installation activities on electrical systems and infrastructure;
  • An interest in learning to maintain UPS systems, generators, air conditioning systems, DC power systems or similar critical infrastructure;
  • A demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise, organise and perform activities with limited guidance to achieve effective outcomes;
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant policies, procedures, technical standards and legislation;
  • A strong commitment to safety, teamwork and customer service excellence;
  • The possession of relevant licensing as specified by legislative and/or Airservices requirements.

The following qualifications are essential to be considered for this role:

  • Relevant trade qualification and industry licences where applicable.
  • Current State Electrical Licence.
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
  • Construction Industry White Card
