Job summary

Iluka Resources in Eneabba, WA, is seeking experienced Electrical Technicians to commission and ramp up the Rare Earths Refinery, establishing reliable electrical, instrumentation and control systems for safe, compliant operation and efficient plant performance, with new camp facilities.

You will deliver preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance, fault finding and repairs across electrical, instrumentation and control equipment, read and annotate drawings, apply isolations, and log

Qualifications

• Electrical trade qualification and current WA Electrical Worker's Licence.
• Certificate III/IV in Electrical Instrumentation or I&C.
• Experience maintaining and troubleshooting industrial electrical, instrumentation and control equipment.
• Experience commissioning and maintaining electrical control systems.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read, interpret and mark-up electrical drawings.
• White Card, First Aid, Elevating Work Platform, Forklift, Working at Heights and Confined Space qualifications or licences.
• High voltage switching ticket preferred.
• Strong commitment to safety, procedural discipline and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Commission and startup electrical, instrumentation and control systems.
• Test, maintain and troubleshoot motors, drives, switchgear, MCCs and field instruments.
• Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance to improve reliability.
• Fault find and repair electrical/instrumentation/control faults.
• Inspect and fault-find equipment in hazardous areas.
• Apply isolations, permits to work and high voltage switching when trained.
• Test safety-critical systems, including trips, interlocks and E-stops.
• Record maintenance history in SAP and contribute to continuous improvement.

Join Australia's first fully integrated rare earths refinery Site-based, Eneabba, WA Iluka Resources is a leading global producer of critical minerals, zircon and high-grade titanium dioxide feedstocks. In partnership with the Australian Government, Iluka is developing Australia's first fully integrated rare earths refinery at Eneabba in Western Australia's Mid-West. The refinery will produce both light and heavy separated rare earth oxides, supporting diversified global supply chains for minerals essential to defence, renewable energy, anything with an electric motor, robotics and advanced technologies.

About the role

We are seeking experienced Electrical Technicians and Advanced Electrical Technicians to join our team at the Eneabba Rare Earths Refinery. Reporting to the Maintenance Coordinator, you will help commission and ramp up the refinery, establishing reliable electrical, instrumentation and control systems and the maintenance practices that support them. As the plant transitions into steady-state production, you will deliver preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance, fault finding and repairs across the site's electrical, instrumentation and control systems, supporting safe, compliant, reliable and efficient plant operation. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the refinery's future, with new camp accommodation and facilities provided.

Key responsibilities

• Commission and start up new electrical, instrumentation and control systems, including motor solo runs and review of inspection and test records
• Test, maintain, troubleshoot motors, drives, switchgear, motor control centres, field instruments, cabling and associated fixed plant equipment
• Perform electrical fitting, preventive and breakdown maintenance activities to improve equipment reliability and plant availability
• Fault find and repair electrical, instrumentation and control faults, minimising plant downtime
• Inspect, maintain and fault find electrical and instrumentation equipment in classified hazardous areas, within the competencies and authorisations held
• Apply electrical isolations, permits to work, testing and compliance requirements, and undertake high voltage switching only when trained and site authorised
• Test and maintain safety-critical systems, including trips, interlocks, emergency stops, and fire and gas detection systems
• Conduct routine fixed plant inspections and identify opportunities to improve equipment safety, reliability and performance
• Record accurate maintenance history in SAP and contribute to defect elimination, continuous improvement and plant optimisation

About you

• An electrical trade qualification and a current Western Australian Electrical Worker's Licence
• A Certificate III or Certificate IV qualification in Electrical Instrumentation or Instrumentation and Control
• Experience maintaining and troubleshooting industrial electrical, instrumentation and control equipment
• Experience commissioning and maintaining electrical control systems
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• The ability to read, interpret and mark-up electrical drawings
• White Card, First Aid, Elevating Work Platform, Forklift, Working at Heights and Confined Space qualifications or licences
• A high voltage switching ticket is preferred
• A strong commitment to safety, procedural discipline, regulatory compliance and teamwork
