Job summary

BOUYGUES CONSTRUCTION AUSTRALIA (BCA) – Docklands VIC is seeking a Site Engineer (Electrical) to deliver electrical construction support on the Terra Verde tunnel project in Melbourne. You will report to the Project Engineer (Electrical) and help coordinate planning, compliance, cost control, and risk management to ensure safe, efficient delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Electrical Engineering or equivalent tertiary qualification.
• Current White Card.
• Demonstrated experience in electrical engineering within major infrastructure, civil construction, or tunnelling projects.
• Experience monitoring project compliance, performance, safety, and quality outcomes.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day engineering support for electrical construction activities across the project.
• Develop, maintain, and monitor daily cost reporting and productivity tracking systems.
• Review construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, standards, and contractual requirements.
• Identify construction issues, develop corrective actions, and support their implementation.
• Assist in the development, communication, and monitoring of project risk management controls.
• Conduct and participate in safety, environmental, and quality inspections, audits, and assessments.
• Support the management of defects, non-conformances, corrective actions, and close‑out activities.
• Monitor and report on project progress, performance metrics, and key deliverables.
• Coordinate and manage subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to ensure project milestones are achieved.
• Contribute to the preparation of engineering documentation, work packs, inspection and test plans, and technical reports.
• Promote a culture of safety, quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the project.
• Apply knowledge of tunnel and underground construction practices to support safe and efficient project delivery.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with project stakeholders, clients, consultants, and construction teams.
