Job summary
South32 invites applications for an Electrical Reliability Engineer at our Cannington operation in northwest Queensland. The role supports safe, sustainable and cost-effective mine and processing operations, focusing on improving electrical and instrumentation asset reliability and lifecycle performance.
Based on a 4:3 roster, this permanent FIFO role offers early career development within a global metals company.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Electrical Engineering required.
- Experience in mining/minerals processing or heavy industry.
- Strong knowledge of reliability centred maintenance (RCM).
- Proficiency with CMMS platforms (SAP PM/Maximo).
- Knowledge of power systems, switchgear, MCCs, VSDs and electrical protection.
Responsibilities
- Analyse reliability trends and equipment performance data to identify improvements.
- Monitor asset health and KPIs and provide improvement recommendations.
- Assess data from condition monitoring to improve asset performance.
- Develop and optimise maintenance strategies for electrical/instrumentation assets.
- Lead root cause analyses and implement corrective actions.
- Develop asset lifecycle plans for electrical/instrumentation assets.
- Prepare business cases and scopes for reliability projects.
- Review and coordinate corrective actions from statutory inspections.
