Job summary

Embedded Expertise is seeking an experienced Electrical Installation Supervisor to oversee the delivery of installation packages for new process line equipment, plant upgrades, and electrical, automation and control system installations in a heavy industrial environment.

You will supervise installation works, coordinate onsite contractors, review safety documents (JSA/SWMS) and QA activities, interpret electrical drawings, and help ensure projects meet safety, quality and schedule targets on

Qualifications

• Electrical engineering background or qualified electrical trade required.
• Experience supervising electrical installation works in heavy industrial environments.
• Strong understanding of safety systems, JSA/SWMS and safe work practices.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings and contribute to constructability reviews.

Job description

Working as part of a multi-disciplined project team and reporting directly to the Project Manager, you will oversee the delivery of electrical installation packages associated with new process line equipment, plant upgrades, and electrical, automation and control system installations.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Installation & Project Delivery

• Supervise electrical installation works across a range of capital projects in a heavy industrial environment.
• Oversee the installation of electrical distribution equipment, automation systems, drives and communications networks.
• Supervise cable installation and associated support structures, including control, network, low-voltage (LV) and high-voltage (HV) cabling.
• Contribute to electrical and control system design reviews, with a focus on constructability and installation requirements.
• Assist with equipment and process system commissioning activities.

Safety & Compliance

• Develop, review and implement Job Safety Analyses (JSA), Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and other safe work documentation.
• Participate in hazard identification, risk assessments and risk mitigation activities.
• Lead and participate in site toolbox meetings.
• Implement and actively monitor safety controls and safe work systems throughout installation and construction activities.
• Ensure all works comply with BlueScope safety standards, applicable legislation and relevant codes of practice.

Contractor & Quality Management

• Coordinate and manage onsite contractors to ensure works are completed safely, to specification and within agreed timeframes.
• Prepare scopes of work, technical specifications, tender documentation and installation plans.
• Manage site instructions, variations and installation-related documentation.
• Develop, review and sign off quality assurance (QA) activities associated with equipment installation.
• Maintain and markup as-built drawings to reflect completed works.

About You
You are a practical, safety-focused electrical professional who understands the challenges of delivering installation works in a complex industrial environment. You can confidently coordinate contractors, work collaboratively with engineering and project teams, and maintain high standards of safety and quality on site.

You will possess

• An electrical engineering or electrical trade background.
• Demonstrated experience supervising electrical installation works in an industrial or heavy manufacturing environment.
• Experience managing onsite contractors and coordinating installation activities.
• A strong understanding of safety systems, risk assessments, JSA/SWMS documentation and safe systems of work.
• Experience developing scopes of work, installation documentation and QA requirements.
• The ability to interpret electrical drawings and contribute to constructability reviews.
• Strong communication, planning and organisational skills.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving, quality control and project delivery.

Experience with industrial automation, drives, communications networks and LV/HV electrical installations will be highly regarded.
