BlueScope is seeking an experienced Electrical Equipment Specialist to join our Western Port Maintenance Team in Victoria. The role focuses on maximizing up-time and reliability of production line equipment through technical expertise and proactive maintenance.

You will bring an electrical trade or related qualifications and hands-on experience with motors, drives, PLCs, and electrical schematics. Safety, teamwork, and a continuous improvement mindset are essential in this 24x7 manufacturing

Qualifications

• Electrical trade qualification required and relevant industrial experience.
• Experience with process line equipment including AC/DC Motors, motor drives and PLCs.
• Ability to read and utilise electrical schematics to diagnose issues.
• Commitment to safety and working within a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in troubleshooting day-to-day problems and propose robust solutions.
• Analyse maintenance history and perform root cause analysis and reporting.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team on planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Undertake reporting and inspections to develop short and longer-term solutions.

The Opportunity

Bluescope is seeking an experiencedElectrical Equipment Specialist to join our Maintenance Team at our Western Port Manufacturing facility. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products Portfolio, we have five major manufacturing sites at Western Port which operate 24 x 7 and deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to export and domestic customers.

In this critical role, you will be able to use your technical background and experience to deliver key outcomes by applying your skill and knowledge. Your contributions will ensure that the equipment on our production line experiences maximum up-time and reliability.

What Will You Do?

More About You

Coming from a strong electrical trade or electrical engineering background, with Industrial and/or heavy manufacturing experience you will bring:

• an electrical trade or related qualifications
• a commitment to your own safety and wellbeing and care for others
• experience with process line equipment including AC/DC Motors, Motor Drives, PLC’s and the ability to utilise electrical schematics to establish root cause
• experience working both independently and as part of a manufacturing team
• strong attention to detail with the ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently
