Job summary

SA Water is seeking a Maintenance Engineer, Electrical to provide expert support across electrical systems, SCADA, controls and HV networks. You will lead investigations, safety reviews and efficiency improvements for critical water infrastructure.

Extensive knowledge of Australian electrical standards and a proactive approach to asset performance will be essential, along with strong stakeholder collaboration across maintenance and project teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, Control Systems or related Engineering discipline.
• Experience with Electrical, Instrumentation, SCADA, Controls and/or High Voltage systems.
• Knowledge of Australian electrical standards and safety requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to investigate faults and identify improvements.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Commitment to safety, compliance and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise across Electrical, Instrumentation, SCADA, Controls and High Voltage systems.
• Lead engineering investigations, fault finding, audits and root cause analyses to improve asset performance.
• Support the reliability, maintenance and optimisation of critical water and wastewater infrastructure.
• Contribute to HV switching operations, electrical compliance, protection systems and risk management initiatives.
• Review electrical designs, technical standards and operational practices, ensuring safe and compliant outcomes.
• Build strong relationships with operational, maintenance and project teams while delivering practical technical advice.
• Drive continuous improvement through site audits, technical standards development, innovation and the adoption of emerging technologies.
