Job summary

Invenio seeks a skilled Electrical Fitter to join our manufacturing team in Victoria. This permanent, on-site position focuses on the assembly, installation, testing, inspection and ongoing maintenance of electrical equipment and components.

The role requires a trade qualification, experience reading wiring diagrams, and a hands-on approach to fault finding, preventive maintenance and safe work practices alongside electricians and engineers.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Electrical Fitting or equivalent.
• Proven experience as an Electrical Fitter in manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Experience with electrical assembly, wiring, testing, maintenance and fault finding.
• Strong understanding of electrical safety and quality practices.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow technical procedures.
• Good communication and teamwork.
• Knowledge of AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 61439 and Victorian SIRs.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fit, wire and install electrical equipment, switchboards and control panels.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical specifications.
• Carry out preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, repairs and component replacements.
• Conduct electrical inspections and testing to verify equipment functionality, safety and compliance.
• Identify faults, defects and potential hazards, and report issues to relevant personnel.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports and work orders.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures, including lockout/tagout requirements.
• Work collaboratively with electricians, engineers, mechanical fitters and production teams.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment while meeting quality standards.

About You

• A trade qualification in Electrical Fitting or an equivalent qualification.
  

• Proven experience working as an Electrical Fitter, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  

• The ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and wiring diagrams.
  

• Experience with electrical assembly, wiring, testing, maintenance and fault finding.
  

• A strong understanding of electrical safety, quality control and safe work practices.
  

• Good attention to detail and the ability to follow technical procedures and specifications.
  

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  

• Knowledge of relevant Australian electrical standards and regulations, including AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 61439 and Victorian Service and Installation Rules (SIRs).
