Job summary

BuildRight Construction AU is seeking an experienced Electrician/Electrical Field Service Technician to join our established Australian technical service team supporting commercial catering and foodservice equipment.

The ideal candidate will investigate faults and deliver effective repairs in both customer-site and workshop environments, gaining exposure to servicing, commissioning, technical troubleshooting, warranty support and equipment setup.

Qualifications

• Recognised electrical trade qualification.
• Relevant electrical licence or licensing eligibility.
• Demonstrated experience in electrical troubleshooting and fault diagnosis.
• Strong practical knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, controls and components.
• Experience servicing, repairing or maintaining electrical equipment.
• Background in commercial appliances, industrial equipment, machinery, foodservice equipment or electro-mechanical systems advantageous.
• Ability to diagnose faults independently and identify practical repair solutions.
• Previous field service or customer-site experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and technical personnel.
• Professional approach when dealing with manufacturers, suppliers, contractors and service teams.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
• Reliable, hands-on and safety-conscious work ethic.
• Ability to maintain accurate service and repair documentation.
• Gas experience or relevant gas licence advantageous.
• Forklift experience or licence advantageous.
• Current Australian driver’s licence or equivalent.
• Overseas applicants with suitable qualifications and verifiable experience may be considered.
• Ability to provide supporting evidence of qualifications and employment experience for assessment.

Responsibilities

• Attend commercial customer site to investigate and resolve equipment faults.
• Diagnose electrical problems using appropriate testing and diagnostic equipment.
• Service, repair and maintain commercial catering and foodservice equipment.
• Perform electrical testing and verify equipment is operating safely and correctly.
• Identify faulty electrical components and determine appropriate repair solutions.
• Complete electrical wiring, component replacement and equipment modifications where appropriately licensed.
• Install, test and commission new commercial equipment.
• Provide practical technical assistance to customers and service technicians.
• Respond to technical enquiries by telephone and email.
• Support warranty investigations and follow service issues through to resolution.
• Communicate with manufacturers and suppliers regarding technical faults, components and spare parts.
• Coordinate with contractors and external technicians when required.
• Identify and arrange parts and components needed to complete repairs.
• Assist with equipment assembly and electrical setup.
• Maintain accurate service reports, repair records and parts information.
• Support workshop and warehouse activities when required.
• Apply safe working practices and comply with relevant electrical and workplace safety requirements.
