Job summary

Astrum Recruitment seeks an Electrical Engineer – Procurement & Constructability for the Goulburn project in NSW. You’ll bridge engineering, procurement and site teams to ensure electrical gear is compliant, tested, and installation-ready before dispatch to site.

Focus on identifying constructability issues early, reducing on-site labor and rework. 2-year contract, base salary up to AUD 220K plus super, FIFO from Sydney or relocate locally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications and vendor documentation.
• Experience reviewing electrical procurement packages, technical specifications, supplier submissions or vendor documentation.
• Familiarity with Australian Standards, project specifications and OEM requirements.
• Strong problem-solving, communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering input into electrical procurement packages, reviewing scopes, specifications, drawings, datasheets and vendor documentation.
• Support technical bid evaluations, supplier clarifications and review vendor submissions for compliance with project requirements and Australian Standards.
• Review electrical designs and equipment from an installation perspective, identifying opportunities to simplify installation, reduce site labour and minimise rework.
• Support incoming inspections, testing, modification, preservation and preparation of electrical equipment prior to site delivery.
• Provide technical oversight of electrical equipment stored at Goulburn, ensuring OEM preservation requirements and project requirements are maintained.
• Identify electrical works that can be completed at Goulburn and provide engineering support to trades undertaking preparation, assembly and testing.
• Coordinate with warehouse, procurement and logistics teams to ensure electrical equipment is correctly identified, protected, documented and ready for transport.
• Liaise with design engineers, construction teams, commissioning personnel, suppliers, subcontractors and QA/QC to resolve technical and interface issues.
• Ensure electrical activities comply with project specifications, Australian Standards, OEM requirements, engineering documentation and HSE requirements.
