Job summary

AGL Energy Limited in Australia is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the Renewables Engineering division, focusing on asset management and reliability for renewable assets, especially battery storage sites. Reporting to the Lead Engineer – Battery Storage and Gas, you will assess performance, manage risks, and ensure regulatory compliance across assets.

The role can be based in Newcastle, Sydney or Melbourne, offering growth within a large organisation driving the energy transition.

Qualifications

Tertiary degree in Electrical Engineering.
Chartered Professional Engineer or working towards chartership.
Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
High level of interpersonal skills.
Strong understanding of Asset Management Principles.
Technical experience with power generation assets (preferably renewables) is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Assess performance of assets, address technical issues, and work with stakeholders to deliver timely solutions.
Lead asset-related investigations including Root Cause Analysis investigations.
Ensure compliance with HSE programs.
Maintain relationships with Regulatory Agencies by timely responses in the NEM.
Support projects with liaison to contractors, project manager and reporting.
Support EPC contract negotiations.
