Australia Wide Engineering Recruitment is seeking an Electrical Engineer to lead critical electrical infrastructure projects in Australia. The role focuses on renewing assets such as switchboards and distribution systems, while pushing renewable energy implementation for better network sustainability.

The position requires a degree in electrical engineering, solid knowledge of AS/NZS 3000, and hands-on experience with UPS, standby generators, and surge protection.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (eligible for Graduate entry to Engineers Australia).
• Strong background in commercial electrical design and AS/NZS 3000 compliance.
• Hands-on experience with UPS, standby generators, switchboards, surge protection.
• Valid Australian full driver’s licence and ability to travel to sites.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical infrastructure systems for critical operations and provide end-to-end support throughout the project lifecycle.
• Conduct on-site commissioning and acceptance activities.
• Develop and implement strategic maintenance programs for main and standby power systems.
• Act as SME to investigate, prioritize, and resolve network issues.
• Ensure all electrical designs comply with safety standards and statutory requirements.

Salary: $110k - $130k Plus Super + 7% - 10% Bonus

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to manage and deliver critical electrical infrastructure projects. In this role, you will focus on renewing and upgrading essential assets, such as switchboards, distribution systems, and standby generators. while also driving the implementation of renewable energy systems to enhance network sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Support: Design electrical infrastructure systems for critical operations and provide end-to-end support throughout the project lifecycle.
• Commissioning: Conduct on-site commissioning and acceptance activities.
• Maintenance Strategy: Develop and implement strategic maintenance programs for main and standby power systems.
• Problem Solving: Act as a technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) to investigate, prioritize, and resolve network issues.
• Compliance: Ensure all electrical designs comply with strict safety standards and statutory requirements.

What You Bring

• Education: Degree in Electrical Engineering (eligible for Graduate entry to the Institution of Engineers Australia).
• Core Experience: Strong background in commercial electrical design and statutory requirements, including solid knowledge of AS/NZS 3000.
• Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with UPS, standby power generators, switchboards, and surge protection. Basic awareness of AutoCAD (PowerCAD is a plus).
• Mobility: A valid Australian full driver’s licence with the ability to independently travel to work sites.

Additional certifications in fire detection systems, emergency power systems, or renewable energy technologies are highly regarded.
