Headquartered in Toledo, 'Glass City,' we view glass as something special—something you'll feel when you work with us. Our experience spans decades and more than 10 countries, working with every major glass manufacturer on nearly every aspect of plant development.

You will quickly understand the SSOE difference, rooted in our history of reinvention, consistent growth, and technological leadership. We value talent and effort, rewarding them in meaningful ways. Working at SSOE means collaborating with top professionals and being part of something bigger. We also prioritize providing an excellent workplace to attract and retain top talent, which drives our success.

Responsibilities
  • Participate actively in client contact and business development; prepare or oversee contract proposals, defining scope and estimating electrical engineering work.
  • Delegate project tasks within the department, oversee multiple project teams, and serve as a subject matter expert to bridge gaps between discipline leads and project managers.
  • Take full technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating engineering assignments, ensuring budget and schedule adherence, quality, and inter-discipline coordination.
  • Act as the owner's representative on selected projects, meeting regularly with clients to present progress and ensure satisfaction.
  • Assist clients with power studies, utility coordination, medium voltage substation design, and electrical system specifications.
  • Develop contractor installation/construction packages, including conduit/cable tray drawings, equipment location plans, and specifications.
  • Create electrical schematics such as low-voltage power distribution, PLC I/O diagrams, and 480V motor schematics.
  • Coordinate with electrical contractors onsite to oversee construction and address technical questions.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license; international assignments may waive this requirement.
  • Travel typically ranges from 20% to 40%, potentially including international travel to Latin America or Canada.

Qualifications
  • Engineering experience in heavy industrial or manufacturing environments, such as glass, steel, or graphite industries.
  • Experience with industrial power systems like glass furnace electric boosting systems, electric furnaces, load tap changers, and SCR controls.
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering and at least six years of related experience preferred.
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
  • Knowledge of project design, cost estimating, and scheduling.
  • Strong computer and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in team environments, including remote communication.
  • Willingness and ability to travel for field assignments.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary ranging from $100k to $130k per year, depending on location, education, experience, and certifications.
  • Comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision insurance, life insurance, 401K with company match, professional development, generous PTO, and paid holidays.
