Qualifications

• Must have tertiary electrical engg qualifications with relevant experience in power generation, transmission or renewable energy.
• Experience in grid connection, BESS, solar, wind, substations or EPC delivery is highly regarded.
• Ability to work in interdisciplinary teams and produce clear engineering documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide electrical engineering input across development, design and evaluation of renewable energy projects (solar, wind, BESS).
• Design/review MV/LV systems and substation layouts in line with standards.
• Develop and review electrical specs and tender documents.
• Support lifecycle scoping and optimization of electrical design.
• Oversee EPC outputs during construction and commissioning where required.
• Provide grid connection, transmission and distribution input as needed.
• Prepare designs with AutoCAD and finalize handover to O&M.

We’re looking or a skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer to provide electrical engineering expertise across the development, design and delivery of Ark Energy’s renewable energy projects.

About The Role

Based in Brisbane, you’ll play a key role in the development, design and delivery of electrical systems across a range of utility-scale renewable energy projects, including BESS, solar, wind and associated electrical infrastructure.

Reporting to the Electrical Engineering Manager, you’ll provide electrical engineering expertise from early project development through to construction and commissioning, with remuneration commensurate with your skills and experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide electrical engineering input to the development, design and technical evaluation of renewable energy projects, including solar, wind and BESS.
• Design and review MV/LV electrical systems and substation layouts.
• Ensure consultant designs comply with Australian Standards.
• Develop and review electrical system specs and tender documents.
• Support the scoping and management of the electrical design across project lifecycle.
• Assist with cost estimates, specs, and evaluation of electrical construction works.
• Prepare concept designs for underground/overhead reticulation using AutoCAD.
• Provide electrical engineering support during construction, testing & commissioning, including overseeing of EPC contracting outputs where required.
• Provide engineering input into grid connection, transmission and distribution requirements, with experience in these areas highly regarded.
• Finalise documentation and support handover to O&M teams.
• Maintain technical standards and build stakeholder relationships.
• Develop and review electrical engineering designs, drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors and EPC partners to resolve technical issues and support project delivery.

What You’ll Bring

• Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering and relevant experience in electrical engineering within power generation, transmission, distribution, renewable energy or related infrastructure environments.
• Experience in one of more of the following areas will be highly regarded: grid connection, BESS, solar, wind, substations, MV/LV systems, underground or overhead reticulation, EPC delivery or electrical infrastructure.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant engineering/design software.
• Strong technical capability in producing engineering documentation, problem-solving, and working in interdisciplinary design and construction teams.
• Well-organised, self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Working knowledge of the Australian renewable energy sector and National Electricity Market (NEM), or the ability to quickly develop this knowledge.
• Willingness and ability to travel to project sites across Australia as and if required.
