Job summary

Pacific Energy in Australia seeks a Senior Electrical Design Lead to oversee a multidisciplinary electrical design team, ensuring safe, on-time project delivery and alignment of resources with business objectives.

You will drive design governance, compliance with Australian Standards, and collaborate with clients and project teams on renewable energy projects, microgrids and related infrastructure. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving are essential.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) and extensive industry experience.
• Proven leadership experience managing engineering, design, or technical teams.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering, drafting, and design principles.
• Experience in power generation, renewable energy, microgrids, or related energy infrastructure projects.
• Excellent project planning, resource management and organisational skills.
• Strong technical writing and documentation capabilities.
• Familiarity with Australian Standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Electrical Design team, including resource planning and performance management.
• Ensure successful delivery of electrical design outputs across multiple projects.
• Develop and implement design strategies, standards, and continuous improvement.
• Participate in safety reviews including HAZOP, CHAZOP, HAZID, and client design reviews.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, utilities and clients.
• Provide site support during milestones and assist with technical issue resolution.
