Job summary

Sage Group's TAS team is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with 7+ years to lead electrical design across Water, Food & Beverage, and Heavy Industry sectors.

Based in Hobart or Launceston, you will mentor graduates, liaise with clients on scopes of work, and drive designs meeting project budgets and timelines while leveraging PowerCAD/ETAP tools.

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering degree or similar with minimum 7 years of proven experience within automation, Defence, energy, utilities or manufacturing sectors.
• Verifiable knowledge of systems engineering principles and practices.
• Verifiable design management or leadership experience.
• Excellent communication skills with the confidence to engage with key stakeholders at all levels.
• Previous experience with design tools such as PowerCAD or ETAP, Cable Sizing, and Load Calculations.
• Previous experience with PLC I/O and architecture drawings is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Be accountable to the Principal Engineer for the preparation and production of electrical designs to meet project requirements, specifications, budgets, and timeframes.
• Be confident in liaising directly with clients in developing and refining scopes of work as needed.
• Provide mentoring and leadership to Graduate/Junior Engineers.
• You will develop and manage key stakeholder relationships and engagement to provide timely updates and promptly resolve design issues.

As an Electrical Design Engineer at SAGE, you will be working in various industry sectors including Water, Food & Beverage, and Heavy Industry. You will be supporting advanced PLC systems, motor control centres, and distribution systems.

In this role you will:

We have multiple positions available which can be based in Hobart or Launceston, relocation support will be available to candidates willing to relocate.
