Job summary

SAGE Group is seeking a Systems Engineer for our airport-based team at Sydney Airport (Mascot). You will design and deliver technical automation solutions, manage risk, and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure project success.

The role requires an Electrical Engineering qualification and at least 5 years in automation, with Siemens S7 TI A Portal, Ignition SCADA, and conveyor systems experience highly preferred. Night shifts are part of the roster.

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering qualification with at least 5 years in automation.
• Proven PLC/automation and control systems engineering expertise.
• Siemens S7 TI A Portal is essential.
• Experience with Ignition SCADA and MODBUS TCP/RTU advantageous.
• Experience with conveyors in airport/manufacturing/warehouse environments.
• Excellent stakeholder communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver technical solutions that meet project requirements.
• Identify and mitigate technical risk; escalate high-risk items to management.
• Manage and promptly resolve issues as they arise; escalate when necessary.
• Manage changes to the technical outcomes of the project.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with the team and client for collaboration.
• Be prepared to work night shifts as part of a roster.

In this role you will:

• Be based at Sydney Airport (Mascot).
• Design and deliver technical solutions that meet the requirements and scope of the project.
• Identify and mitigate technical risk, escalating high risk items to management.
• Manage and promptly resolve issues as they arise, escalating if and when necessary.
• Manage changes to the technical outcomes of the project.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with your team and client, ensuring a high level of collaboration at all times.
• Be required to work some night shifts as part of a roster.

Skills & Experience:

• You will have an appropriate Electrical Engineering qualification combined with at least 5 years of verifiable experience working within the automation industry.
• Have proven technical expertise in electrical engineering, automation and control systems engineering.
• Have technical knowledge of PLC's (Siemens S7 TIA Portal is essential).
• Experience with SCADA such as Ignition and MODBUS TCP/RTU will be highly regarded.
• Have proven experience of conveyor systems within an airport, manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• You will have excellent communications skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders and understand their requirements.
