Job summary

Multicultural Consulting Services Pty is seeking an Electrical commissioning engineer to support a remote pumped‑storage energy project on a 2:1 FIFO roster. The role covers electrical pre‑commissioning, testing, energisation and system turnover across HV/MV/LV networks.

You will coordinate daily with construction teams, vendors and commissioning specialists, inspect electrical systems, read schematics, track defects and assist with test documentation and handover readiness.

Qualifications

• Electrical engineering degree or equivalent.
• Experience as an electrical site, graduate, project or commissioning engineer on major infrastructure, power, energy, industrial or resources works.
• Understanding of HV/MV/LV systems, drawings and commissioning processes.
• Testing, energisation or start-up exposure is highly regarded.
• Knowledge of permit-to-work and isolation controls and experience coordinating vendors or site crews.
• Strong collaboration and problem-solving; availability for a remote 2:1 FIFO roster.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily activities with construction teams, vendors and commissioning specialists.
• Inspect electrical systems and support loop checks, point-to-point and functional tests and energisation.
• Read schematics and technical records and assist with fault finding and verification.
• Track defects, punch lists and handover readiness and prepare test and turnover documentation.
• Support senior engineers with procedures and schedules and coordinate permits, isolations and equipment preservation.
