Job summary

Downer's Energy & Utilities is offering a full-time apprenticeship in Reeves Plains, SA. You will work a 10-hour day, Monday to Friday, with some remote working options, and you will pursue a nationally recognised qualification (Certificate III in Electrotechnology).

You will gain hands-on experience on high‑voltage electrical infrastructure, supervised by qualified tradespeople, while developing skills in fault finding, drawings interpretation and safety in live environments.

Qualifications

• Driver's Licence required.
• Provide First Aid, CPR and White Card - Highly regarded.
• Completed Year 10 or higher (Year 12 preferred) with Pass marks in Maths & English.
• Comfortable working outdoors and in technical environments like substations.
• Committed to working safely and responsibly in high‑risk electrical areas.

Responsibilities

• Assist with construction, installation, maintenance, testing and repair of substations.
• Learn about transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, and protection systems.
• Interpret electrical drawings and use testing equipment.
• Work safely within live electrical environments.
• Gain hands-on experience under qualified tradespeople and technicians.
