Job summary

The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) in Adelaide is seeking a capable Team Leader to oversee the SA State Operations team. You will lead divisional election planning, delivery and evaluation, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance throughout the electoral cycle.

You will manage a small team and temporary staff, collaborate with the State and National Offices, and play a key role in expanding the workforce during elections while upholding the highest standards of integrity and public

Qualifications

• Experience leading the planning and delivery of events, including managing logistics, resources and competing priorities, and achieving outcomes in a complex operational environment.
• Proven leadership in building team capability, developing productive working relationships, and communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience managing compliance obligations, work health and safety requirements and operational risks; applying legislation and policy.
• Ability to lead projects and drive improvements that enhance operational effectiveness.
• Ability to exercise sound judgement and make decisions under pressure in a complex operational environment.
• Ability to work independently while supporting the AEC's strategic direction.

Responsibilities

• Lead divisional election planning, delivery and evaluation, ensuring timely and accurate outputs.
• Oversee the supervision of the divisional office team and temporary staff; support rapid workforce expansion during elections.
• Collaborate with State Office, National Office and other states to ensure consistent delivery of services.
• Ensure the electoral roll is accurate and complete during the preparation phase.
• Contribute to team objectives and strategic initiatives, maintaining cohesion and quality of outputs.
