Job summary

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) Information Management and Technology Division is seeking a skilled Salesforce Developer to support the delivery of Salesforce applications. You will participate in planning, analyse requirements, and translate designs into configurations and code, using out-of-the-box features to maximise value while adhering to standards.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and delivering enterprise Salesforce solutions.
• Ability to configure Salesforce with custom objects, flows, permission sets.
• Advanced Apex, LWC, Omnistudio, Aura, JavaScript, CSS and HTML experience.
• Experience troubleshooting development/configuration errors.
• Knowledge of Public Sector Solutions and Experience Cloud is preferred.
• Familiarity with version control and CI/CD tooling.
• Certified Salesforce Platform Developer I and Omni Studio Developer/Consultant is preferred.

The Commercial Application Delivery Section within the Business Solutions Branch of DFAT's Information Management and Technology Division are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Salesforce Developer to support projects in the development of Salesforce applications.

As a Salesforce Developer you will be required to:

• Participate in the planning/analysis of business requirements for system changes and enhancements.
• Remain current with Salesforce technologies and best practices.
• Translate application designs into functional configurations and code, in line with development and configuration standards.
• Support quality assurance and release management operations to ensure artefacts can be properly tested and deployed.
• Produce design, solution and technical documentation as required by the project.

Specialist Salesforce skills are sought in the following key technology areas:

• Demonstrated experience to design, build and deliver enterprise level integrated solutions.
• Demonstrated experience in configuring Salesforce. Ability to build/ modify custom Objects, Flows, Permission sets, sharing and other related configuration and settings.
• Advanced demonstrated experience in Apex, Lightning Web Components, Omnistudio, Aura, JavaScript, CSS and HTML.
• Demonstrated experience in tracking and troubleshooting errors in development and configuration.

Key duties and responsibilities

Job specific role description:

As a Salesforce developer, you will implement and deliver solutions to meet clients' business requirements in a project delivery team. You will collaborate with the Solution Lead to prepare designs. You will use out-of-the-box features and configuration to maximise value and sustainability and meet best practice when customising with code. You will work closely with the business analyst to ensure that your releases meet business requirements and acceptance criteria and work closely with the tester to ensure your releases meet quality assurance standards. You will work with the release manager to perform releases through the DevOps pipeline and meet quality standards at each step.

This is a delivery and ongoing support role with the following responsibilities:
