CSL Behring is seeking an EHS Specialist for the Broadmeadows site. You will lead and influence Environment, Health, Safety, and Sustainability initiatives across the site, partnering with stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance and drive continuous improvement.

With 8+ years in EHS, you will develop and deploy programs, manage incidents, and provide training to foster a safe, sustainable, and high-performing workplace at CSL Behring.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in safety, engineering or science or related tertiary qualifications.
  • 8+ years in an EHS role within complex industrial/manufacturing environments.
  • Experience implementing EHS management systems and practical tools.
  • Familiarity with regulator requirements and WHS legislation desirable.
  • Strong collaboration and problem-solving mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and influence EHS initiatives across the Broadmeadows site.
  • Develop and deploy EHS programs from strategic plans and action plans.
  • Improve EHS systems and processes across the site.
  • Develop EHS training packages and facilitate education workshops.
  • Partner with departments to identify and close EHS issues.
  • Lead incident investigations and drive corrective actions.
  • Support other EHS team members as required.

Job description

Reporting to the Site EHS Director, the EHS Specialist is responsible for leading and influencing Environment, Health, Safety, and Sustainability initiatives across CSL's Broadmeadows site.

As a key member of the EHS team, this role partners with site stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, drive continuous improvement, and provide expert EHS guidance and support across designated business areas to foster a safe, sustainable, and high-performing workplace.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership, knowledge and support in the diligent discharge of CSL's Work Health & Safety responsibilities and actively support management and employees to comply with requirements of site procedures and relevant EHS legislation
  • Develop and deploy allocated EHS programs from the strategic plan and EHS Action Plan
  • Lead the improvement of allocated EHS systems and processes
  • Develop EHS specific training packages and facilitate general EHS education and communication workshops as required
  • Business Partner with CSL departments and facilitate co-operation between management and employees in developing and carrying out measures to proactively identify and manage closure of EHS issues
  • Facilitate incident investigation analysis and ensure identification of appropriate corrective actions to drive a culture of continuous improvement
  • Provide support to other EHS team members as required
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably within the disciplines of safety, engineering or science and/or other relevant tertiary qualifications
  • 8+ years in an EHS role preferably in a complex Industrial/Manufacturing/Construction environment
  • Experience developing and implementing EHS Management systems and processes including proven ability to deliver practical tools and training
  • Experience in Permit to work systems, Isolation/LOTOTO, Confined space entry, working at heights, contractor management, process safety
  • Business partnering experience and the ability to bring a consultative, problem-solving mindset
  • Familiarity with the Regulator (Comcare) and Commonwealth WHS legislation and regulation is desirable
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting and among multiple department functions
  • Demonstrated ability to organise, prioritise, work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Proven experience in your ability to address safety and environmental concerns and implement improvements

Location: Broadmeadows, 5-days a week
