Job description

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril's family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.

Anduril is seeking an experienced, hands-on Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to support our Australian Operations.

As the EHS Manager, you will work directly with operations, engineering, maintenance, project teams and leadership to maintain a strong safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance, manage risk and provide practical solutions that enable the business to operate safely and efficiently.

Anduril operations present a diverse range of high-risk activities, including heavy manufacturing, lifting operations, offshore testing, electrical work, lithium-ion battery systems, machinery and general industrial activities.

The successful candidate will be equally comfortable on the factory floor, working autonomously, in a management meeting, reviewing technical documentation or leading an incident investigation.

This position reports to the EHS Senior Manager for Australia.

  • Conduct regular workplace inspections, safety observations, risk reviews and leadership safety engagements
  • Coach leaders, supervisors and employees in effective risk management and safe work practices
  • Develop and deliver EHS training, inductions, toolbox talks and awareness programs

  • Lifting operations
  • Electrical work, electrical safety, isolation/LOTO
  • Lithium-ion batteries, including charging, storage, handling, and emergency response
  • Offshore testing and field activities, including mobilization, travel, contractor management and emergency planning
  • Heavy manufacturing equipment, machinery guarding, hazardous energy and maintenance activities
  • Hot work, working at heights and other high-risk work as applicable
  • Contractor and visitor safety management

Risk Management & Compliance

  • Maintain the site's risk management framework and ensure critical risks have effective controls
  • Lead the development and review of risk assessments
  • Monitor compliance with applicable Australian legislation, regulations, codes of practice and relevant standards
  • Maintain the site's EHS management system, documentation and records
  • Prepare for and support internal, external and regulatory audits
  • Track corrective actions are closed effectively

  • Lead investigations of incidents, injuries, near misses and environmental events
  • Identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Manage incident reporting, notifications and follow-up in accordance with legal and company requirements
  • Analyse trends and use data to identify opportunities for risk reduction
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness, drills and response arrangements

Environmental & Occupational Health

  • Manage the site's environmental compliance obligations and programs
  • Support waste management, hazardous substances, spill prevention and pollution-control initiatives
  • Monitor occupational health risks such as noise, hazardous chemicals, dust, ergonomics and other workplace exposures
  • Coordinate occupational hygiene assessments and health surveillance where required
  • Promote employee wellbeing while maintaining a strong focus on prevention and risk control

Contractor & Project Support

  • Review equipment specifications, layouts and processes from an EHS perspective
  • Support management of change to ensure risks are identified before changes are implemented
  • Provide EHS input into new technology, equipment and process introductions
Required Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Safety/Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • Progressive EHS experience in engineering, manufacturing, maritime, defence, aerospace, or other complex technical/industrial environments

  • ICAM Lead Investigator certification
  • Demonstrated ability to influence multidisciplinary teams without direct authority
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to translate technical risk into actionable business and engineering recommendations
