Job summary

Wabtec in Welshpool, Western Australia, is seeking an EHS Advisor to join our site team on a permanent, full-time basis. You will promote health, safety, and environmental management standards, support policy deployment, and lead incident investigations in collaboration with the WHSE Manager, production staff, and HR.

Your daily duties include delivering EHS training, conducting audits and risk assessments, maintaining KPI reporting, and ensuring compliance across projects and facilities.

Qualifications

  • Cert IV WHS required and relevant EHS experience.
  • Experience implementing EHS systems.
  • Prepared to travel to meet project demands.

Responsibilities

  • Promote health, safety and environmental management standards at sites.
  • Develop and deploy company EHS policies and programs.
  • Provide EHS training and conduct incident investigations.
  • Support audits, inspections and risk assessments across projects and facilities.
  • Prepare KPI reports and communicate findings to stakeholders.

Who will you be working with? L&M Radiator, Inc. is a global designer, manufacturer, and distributor or MESABI cooling and heat transfer solutions that are custom-made for heavy equipment in the mining, oil, gas, construction and heavy industrial industries. You will be working closely with WHSE Manager, the Production team and Human resources and the Site Director/General Manager WHSE. You will be reporting to the Site Director.

Where is the position located? This is full-time, permanent position at our office in Welshpool, WA.

What will your typical day look like?

Promote a high level of standard across health, safety and environmental management and adhere to safe work practices at all times.

Be willing to learn and develop as a EHS Professional

Assist in the development and deployment of company policies, systems and programs to ensure positive EHS outcomes are reached for staff, clients and contractors

Assist in the provision of EHS training to staff on industry best practice, company requirements, legislative requirements

Assist and report on accident/incident investigations and prevention initiatives and strategies

Assist with project and facility compliance events including audits, inspections, observations and reviews.

Confidence in communicating across the business, in open forums and in response to EHS related requirements.

Providing written and documented KPI reports for projects and facilities

Participate in EHS Project and Facility Risk Assessments

Respond to workplace, project and facility demands with clear and concise methods and a good ability to prioritise demands

Be a team player with a strong work ethic and ability to engage with all workers, in person.

Be comfortable in attending construction site-based projects, facility workshops and office environments and have an understanding of the EHS related risks that may occur within.

Assist in the management of EHS within projects with team members

Maintains and fosters relationships with current and potential stakeholders, in particular direct workgroups, contractors and subcontractors

What do we want to know about you?

Cert 4 WHS with recent, relevant, EHS Experience

Experience in implementing EHS Systems

Proficient user of the Microsoft Office Suite in particular Word and Excel

Prepared to travel as required to meet project demands and ensure high risk activities are managed effectively

Incident Investigation Qualification or willingness to train in techniques such as ICAM

Preferred

Cert IV Training & Assessing or willingness to obtain credentials

Auditing experience or willingness to obtain credentials

Demonstrated ability to identify problems, analyse data, generate opinions and implement innovative solutions to complex problems.
