Job description

Senior Communications and Engagement Officer

This role requires your experience and leadership in public engagement to drive visible impact.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design, implement, and evaluate community engagement and communication plans.
  2. Support internal stakeholders with tactical and strategic advice aligned with the IAP2 framework.
  3. Respond to sensitive or complex public-facing issues with professionalism and clarity.
  4. Develop content and messaging across traditional and digital channels.
  5. Strengthen partnerships with community groups, industry, and government stakeholders.
  6. Contribute to building a culture of engagement excellence across the organization.
What We're Looking For
  • Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, Community Engagement, or related discipline, or at least 5 years' proven experience in a similar role.
  • IAP2 Certification (mandatory).
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and facilitation skills.
  • High-level written communication ability across various formats and audiences.
  • Experience in complex stakeholder environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with online engagement tools (e.g., Engagement HQ, Engagement Hub).
  • Exceptional time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A current C Class driver's license.
