Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and experienced AVP to join the Leveraged Finance team at Barclays in Sydney. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high deal volume environment on a broad range of financing transactions, including leveraged finance and private credit, for a diverse set of clients such as financial sponsors and corporates.

As an AVP, you will play a critical role in securing and executing financings. Your responsibilities will include leading financial modeling and due diligence work streams, and preparing marketing and internal approval materials. The ideal candidate will have experience in leveraged finance and/or private credit, be highly motivated, eager to learn, and capable of working well under pressure with teams.

Purpose of the Role

To build and maintain relationships with clients, understand their needs, expectations, and financial goals, and develop appropriate investment banking solutions for them and their companies.

Accountabilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients by understanding their business, financial goals, and industry trends.
• Generate ideas and identify opportunities to expand the bank's client base and generate new business.
• Conduct in-depth financial analysis and due diligence on client companies to assess their financial health and valuation.
• Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to review, draft, and maintain legal documentation required for transactions.
• Work with other teams such as Capital Markets, Sales and Trading, Research, and Risk Management to provide comprehensive solutions.
• Champion Energy Transition and Sustainability initiatives by engaging with clients on climate strategies and sustainable finance opportunities.
