About The Opportunity

The Emergency Department (ED) Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) plays a critical leadership role in a high-pressure, fast-paced clinical environment. The role demands a unique blend of clinical expertise, leadership, and management capabilities.

In this position you’ll be working with the ED Nursing & Medical team, the multidisciplinary and clinical support teams. The working hours for this role will be Monday – Friday day shifts.

Bowral & District Hospital, located in the picturesque Southern Highlands of NSW, offers a unique blend of rural charm and cosmopolitan amenities. As part of the South Western Sydney Local Health District, it has strong connections to tertiary facilities at Campbelltown and Liverpool.

The hospital originally opened in 1889 and has undergone significant redevelopment, with the first stage completed in December 2020. This $123 million redevelopment includes a new Clinical Services Building with a modern emergency department, operating theatres, and inpatient wards. The ongoing second stage will further enhance outpatient services and include a new Aboriginal Dreaming Garden.

  • Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent work experience or a combination of study and experience deemed appropriate by SWSLHD.
