What you'll be doing

The Manager – Child Protection & Sexual Assault (CPSA) Portfolio leads critical workforce development programs supporting NSW Health and partner agencies in responding to child protection and sexual assault. This leadership role shapes practice, policy, and training across key service areas.

  • Lead strategic, operational, and workforce planning for the CPSA portfolio
  • Oversee design and delivery of key training programs including SAS, CPCS, and JCPRP
  • Provide expert advice to NSW Health and interagency partners on clinical practice and policy
  • Ensure culturally safe, trauma-informed, inclusive, and high-quality service approaches
  • Supervise staff and maintain best practice through quality assurance and stakeholder engagement

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Behavioural Sciences, Advanced Diploma of Aboriginal Specialist Trauma Counselling (10634NAT), and Cert IV in Training & Education (or willingness to work towards this), and relevant experience in NSW Health Sexual Assault, Child Protection, or JCPRP Health services or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of NSW Health service delivery related to sexual assault and child protection, including legislation, policies, and legal issues surrounding (adult and child) sexual assault, child protection, PHSB, and JCPRP matters.
  • Experience developing and delivering effective workforce development training, understanding of adult learning, curriculum development, and capacity to assess training needs through stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team, promoting cultural safety, accessibility, inclusion, and de-colonising practices in education, project management, and service delivery.
  • Experience in project management, operational and financial management, strategic planning, risk and change management, policy development, and quality improvement.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, facilitation, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to build partnerships and prepare high-level reports and briefs.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, and organisational skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and ability to learn new systems.
  • A current NSW driver's license and willingness to travel for work.
