Seasonal Worker Welfare and Wellbeing Coordinator
About Us:

Sunshine Berries is a commercial berry farm located in Childers, Bundaberg Region, Queensland. It is a subsidiary of Tasmanian Berries, a family-owned business in Central Northern Tasmania, specialising in hydroponically grown strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries for the Australian market.

Position:

We are seeking a Welfare and Wellbeing Coordinator to monitor and support our staff from the Pacific Labour Scheme. The role involves ensuring the social, mental, physical, and spiritual health of our workers on-site and in their accommodations.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide logistical support, including organising medical appointments.
  2. Conduct inductions and facilitate integration into the community and workplace.
  3. Develop and deliver training on safety, emergency procedures, and health practices.
  4. Serve as the first point of contact for worker concerns, promoting engagement and wellbeing.
  5. Organise recreational activities to support work-life balance.
  6. Monitor and communicate any issues affecting workers' wellbeing.
  7. Work with stakeholders to overcome language barriers and improve communication.
Qualifications and Attributes:
  1. Effective communication skills with non-native English speakers.
  2. First Aid Certificate/MHFA/WWVP advantageous.
  3. Full Driver's License/LR license preferred.
  4. Compassionate and empathetic nature.
  5. Ability to manage stressful situations calmly.
  6. Flexible working hours, including weekends and on-call duties.
  7. Good time management and autonomous working skills.
