Job Number: 980308 Work type: Permanent Full Time Location: Melbourne - Docklands Categories: Administration & Support, Communications, Education & Marketing

Who we are

In Melbourne, water is essential to our way of life.

As caretakers for Melbourne’s water cycle, and our catchments. We care for water, life, and land throughout Melbourne: both its people and its biodiversity.

Each time you drink from the tap, flush a toilet, or kayak down the Yarra we’re there. Primed and ready, quietly delivering some of the world’s cleanest water for over five million residents and wildlife that call Melbourne home, just as we have for over 130 years.

About the Role

Are you passionate about helping people grow, develop, and reach their full potential? As the Education & Training Advisor, you'll play a key role in the coordination learning experiences that build capability, strengthen workforce skills, and support organisational success.

Support the development and delivery of Melbourne Water’s technical training and vocational education strategy. This includes coordinating apprenticeship and traineeship programs to ensure participants receive the required training and workplace support, as well as administering and maintaining Melbourne Water’s suite of technical training programs.

In collaboration with key stakeholders across the organisation, the role coordinates apprenticeship and traineeship programs, including support for recruitment, induction, and professional development initiatives. The role also contributes to the development and delivery of both online and face to face technical training outcomes, working with stakeholders to support ongoing workforce development.

Provide administrative and technical support to the Manager Training Compliance, including the administration of training records, invoicing, budget planning and e-Learning development.

This role would suite a highly organised professional with experience coordinating apprenticeship or trainee programs, building strong stakeholder relationships, and supporting workforce capability through effective training and development initiatives.

About you:
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with trainees, leaders, supervisors, training providers, and community partners to support successful learning and workforce development outcomes.
  • Strong organisational skills to coordinate apprenticeships, traineeships, training schedules, compliance activities, and multiple stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills to engage diverse audiences, provide guidance, and promote learning and development initiatives.
  • High level of accuracy in maintaining training records, monitoring compliance requirements, reporting, and managing data within enterprise systems.
  • Experience coordinating apprenticeships, traineeships, vocational education, or workforce development programs from commencement through to completion.
  • Experience supporting the development, administration, and delivery of both online and face-to-face learning programs.
  • Experience assisting with recruitment, onboarding, and induction activities for trainees, apprentices, graduates, or early-career employees.
Experience maintaining training records, liaising with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) and external providers, and supporting compliance and reporting requirements.
