Job summary

Qualifications

• Demonstrated capacity to coordinate and support others in respect to classroom support functions.
• Demonstrated capacity to work and collaborate with others in a team environment.
• Demonstrated capacity to communicate effectively in a team environment, including high level oral and written communication skills.
• Possess the technical knowledge and expertise relevant to the position.
• Demonstrated capacity to provide advice and support to management and other school staff in respect to the work area.
• A commitment to professional learning and growth for both self and others.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to students to access and participate in classroom learning and school activities.
• Assist teachers with the implementation of learning activities and individual student learning goals.
• Support students to develop independence, confidence, positive relationships and appropriate learning behaviours.
• Assist students with literacy, numeracy and other classroom learning activities as directed by the classroom teacher.
• Support students to follow classroom routines, instructions and expectations and transition between activities.
• Assist with the implementation of individual learning, wellbeing and behaviour strategies.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and other school staff to support student engagement, participation and wellbeing.
• Assist in creating a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.
• Other duties as directed by the Principal.
