About the role

Kestrel is currently on the lookout for supportive and compassionate individuals for traineeships in Education Support with our host employers.


You will work a fulltime, Monday to Friday roster whilst completing a 12-month traineeship in Education Support and work under the guidance of highly educated teachers.


These roles include working with children with additional barriers from prep to year 6 and may include mainstream or specialist school settings.



What you will be doing


  • Complete training blocks within the school holidays

  • Assist teachers in the planning of student routines

  • Communicate tasks to students to support understanding

  • Address immediate behavioral needs of students

  • Provide basic supervision for small groups of students



What we are looking for


  • Great communication, engaging personality and people skills

  • Patience, compassion and the ability to stay calm under pressure

  • Capable of providing physical and emotional support to students

  • Passionate about education and completing a Cert III in Education Support

  • Ability to complete training blocks within school holidays

  • Current Working with Children’s Check or willing to obtain

  • Willing to complete two-day volunteer trail
